We have addressed many old complaints with the RISC/6000 platform in the
upcoming AIX release.

One of those complaints was one posed by Systems Support (and others)
about the fact that errors were not logged via "syslog". We have
developed a solution for this, but may need to fine-tune the solution.

Now, everything that is reported and available through "errpt" will also
be syslogged (with a few exceptions). Please help us fine tune the flow
of messages by indicating the over-abundance of certain classes of
messages and indicate that these messages should be logged at a lower
priority level. Also, if you see any cases where there seems to be a
looping problem, please let us know, also (we have fixed one case where
it would alternate between ethernet errors ad infinitum, and have junked
one of the two, so that the logs are filled with "last message repeated
..." instead of alternating).

Thank you for your support in this process.

-Richard
