I think it's pretty clear that this patch release does more harm than
good on Solaris at the moment; we can just wait until IAP for those
changes.
(For the record, I've gone over the update script with a fine-toothed
comb, run several parts of it by hand on an 8.4.15 Solaris machine,
and still haven't got the slightest clue what could be touching the
/usr/java symlink. If you take an 8.4.17 machine, put the symlink
back, re-run the update, and reboot the machine, the symlink doesn't
go away, so it's not easy to test.)
