Oy. I am indeed on release-team and have been for a long time now. I've
been following the stream of messages on this local-netscape thing with a
lot of interest.

However, given that for a while one new scheme arrived on the Best Way To
Do This every three or four days, and given that these are Athena
modifications that don't really call for much from me, I haven't said
anything; I've been waiting for the gyrations to stop and for someone to
tell me when anything specific in infoagents needs changing. I'm aware
that some script changes will be required, but they seemed in flux until a
couple of days ago. For example, if I'd modified htmlview in accordance
with one set of script changes proposed, it would have just been wasted
once it was decided to go with a local htmlview after all..

In terms of my input on what is the best way to do this, I have none. I
pretty much think the whole idea is needless (I never had issues with the
Netscape start times, even on that squirrel-powered Sparc 4), but hey, I
can't argue with what the users want.

In general: I don't want to be razzed for lack of participation, but about
seven-tenths of the release-team material doesn't involve me in any
way. I'm happy to attend the meetings if someone tells me they'd like me
to be there, and I'm happy to provide input if someone specifically asks
me for it. Other than that, I try to stay out of the way.
