1. krb5
The announcement went out yesterday. It was okay, modulo the expected
fallout. Some new vulnerabilities were discovered; so far we think
they only apply to responses to ticket requests, which means they're a
little harder to exploit than the other vulnerabilities.
Barring new information, we will release 8.3.28 tonight in the dev
cell as it currently stands, and fix the vulnerabilities in 8.3.29,
which will come out later.
2. Beta status
Linux has the technical issues pretty much solved, but needs to have
the RPMs rebuilt under Red Hat 6.2. It may be ready by tomorrow
evening.
IRIX is set modulo the prom bug. There are two affected machines in
the beta cluster; we will send their owners mail letting them know.
The Solaris update rework is done; it needs review by Greg. It may be
ready by tomorrow or Friday.
3. mkserv for Linux
It's ready modulo knowing the location of a canonical rc.conf.
There is a minor chicken-and-egg problem wrt introducing mkserv
support into the update script, but we will fix that.
4. knfs for Solaris
We think this is due for early. We should note in the beta
announcement that we don't have it yet.
5. Solaris partition sizes
We need to add a check to update_ws to not do updates if there isn't
enough free space or if the partition isn't big enough.
We need to take machines out of the beta cluster which we identify as
not having big enough partition sizes.
Greg will send a heads up to release-announce about the problem soon.
This should go in the release notes.
