The pilot installation is up and running, and the Linux workstations
are already acquiring a reputation for speed. Many thanks especially
to Greg and Garry for their invaluable help in fixing the little
snafus that inevitably crop up at the last moment.

The project home page at http://web.mit.edu/als/www has been updated
to show the current list of software/development bugs, shortcomings,
and suggestions.

I would like to fix the high priority bugs Friday and we can then
attempt to make the update procedure do its thing early next week.
I'll work with Greg to make this happen. Other than the items on the
list on the web page, there are two other tasks that need to happen:

* When the 3-button mice come in, we need to install them on the
machines. If they get to me, I can plug them in, or we can ask
  cluster to do it.

* I need to synchronize the athena-8_3-linux branch with the current
branch. Once this is done, the athena-8_3-linux tree will only get
modified by pulling up channges from the current branch, except in
cases where there is no analogous source in current.

I propose that we engage in a special speedy release cycle process,
instead of needing release-team meeting to carefully plan each patch
release. I'll just coordinate with Greg to make patch releases and
put them in the dev cell, and then we'll request propogation to the
athena cell once they have received a little testing (though not the
normal one week test).
