OK, I checked all of the machiens that were in the public, early and
beta sun clusters (not that this does not include ops server which are
in the server-sun4 cluster.) Machines that don't have hesiod info are
also not included. Machines that didn't reply to my snmp query or
machiens that are version 'update' are not included.
The following machines have teh problem:

I also ran accross 13 machines that were an early enough version of
8.2 that they avoided the problem. Applying dan's patch on one of
these machiens shouldn't break outgoing mail through outgoing, but may
break other things.
