I have been able to try the test Open GL application that has problems
on some machines after an 8.2.19 update. The newer release does not
help any- it still fails on machines where it failed before (running
8.2.17). It is also still the case that it runs on some Ultra 10s and
fails on others. Specifically:

Open GL apps fail, with the failure mode I described, on Ultra 10s:

allegretto.mit.edu FW82661392
m2-032-5.mit.edu FW82661419 (not updated to 8.2.19, but the failure mode
appears identical to allegretto which fails
                               before and after update)

Open GL apps work OK on Ultra 10s (not updated- still 8.2.17):

m1-115-15.mit.edu FW82661477
m37-312-29.mit.edu FW82661517
ultrasparc.mit.edu FW85220379

Spot checks show other machines in 1-115 and 37-312 work OK too.

Naomi got serial numbers, and further info:

>Putting the serial numbers in order, we have the following:

>PO Number Order number Serial Number
>--------- ------------ -------------
>4500123438 3rd order FW85220379 works
>4500103709 1st order FW82661392 doesn't work
>4500103709 1st order FW82661419 doesn't work
>4500103709 1st order FW82661477 works
>4500103709 1st order FW82661517 works
