For Your Information.
I believe that Tom Yu encountered a completely unrelated application
that locked up his Ultra 10 in a similar fashion, sometime in November
(I think it might have been an audio CD playing program).
I had intended to examine this case in my spare time, and somehow
managed not to get to it.
I don't think anyone has managed to investigate this properly yet.

Ah yes, please see bugs[16510].
I'll have time to play with it this weekend if no one gets to it by then.
It's worth noting that the patch issue in bugs[16510] should be resolved
by 8.2.16 (current beta release), so investigating this type of problem
should be easier than it was in November.
