1. Larvnet is coming...
2. Ftpd will be upgraded to handle forwarding tickets. This will occur
both on dial-up and regular workstations. It will allow upcoming Mac and PC
clients to transfer files without duplicate logins.
3. Bill is going to work on upgrading "build machine" Intel systems to
allow Linux and netBSD.
4. Greg is investigating "srvd-current" -- copying the wash to support new
libraries for use in building.
5. Infoagents currently supports Netscape 4.0.5. Some classes are using
Java 1.1.6, which is supported by Netscape 4.0.7. These classes are using
Netscape from outland. Todd is investigating the steps to provide them with
a supported version.
6. Ssh2 appears to have problematic wording on the license concerning
academic use.
7. Irix 6.3 appears to have nonsense for setrlimit memory and another
value. The doesn't seem to be any harm.
8. The test cluster may acquire an Ultra 1. It's not clear where we will
put it, as the remaining space is allocated for an 02 and a test cluster
Indy (the Indy that is there may or may not stay).
9. The color printer still needs ops to do a real build.
10. Zip drives -- the native code on Irix 6.2 does not appear to deal well.
The native code on Irix 6.3 seems to work well.
If there are additional zip drives, we'd recommend putting them on the 02's
to start.
11. Irix 6.5 required five gigabytes to roll off the CDs. We had to
acquire new disks so that Bob could begin putting a system together.
12. Bill has a reasonably irrelevant interest in a new database company,
somewhere between miniSQL and Oracle.
