1. level of support for O2s
The concern is to make sure we have properly and publicly
announced that we are supporting the O2s. We are agreed
that we do support them, but we want to make sure in Web
page and other IS groups are properly informed of our support.
Mike will check with ACMG and make sure this is taken care
of.
2. O2s and compiler breakage after the OS packs get updated
The problem is that when the compiler is updated on the OS
packs, systems which do not take an update and are used for
compiling will have problems.
We believe the number of 02s is small enough that we can
ask all systems to take the update to provide proper
compilation.
3. 8.1.17 for the O2
This should be released next week.
4. Strip business
The problem appears (under IRIX 6.2) to be if you compile
into AFS and then strip the object. For now we can build on
local disk and work around the problem. We have a trouble
report open with Transarc and hope to have a solution soon.
5. release schedule
We expect to go to beta next Monday, June first. This will
be for all three kinds of hardware (sun, indy, 02).
We expect early to be about July first, with general release
about August first.
6. Alex and the default sun compiler
Alex would like to change the default sun compiler to a
current version. We agree.
