It pops open Firefox at the ff landing page

instead of at something that tells you how to register for an account,
i.e.
mit.edu/register
I suspect this only happened in the past week or two, since I'm pretty
sure I helped some people register over IAP, though I didn't sit over
their shoulders.
Fails on multiple debathena-cluster machiens in the w20 cluster.
