One of the things we firmly believe in in Network Support Services is on-line distribution of non-licensed software and documentation. For a number of years we have been providing departments with the basic bootstrap software and instructing them on how to use ftp to access other software.
We currently provide a number of applications on the server net-dist@mit.edu.
With the implementation of Resnet, we expect to add a number of other applications such as news readers, gopher and Wais clients.
We are currently putting together an AppleShare server which will allow users to access software and documentation over AppleTalk. This should be in place in a few weeks.
