Dear InterNetters on comp.os.linux.announce,

I'm happy to announce the release of the Unix Cockpit (UC) for Linux.

UC is a new Unix/X11 file manager that combines convenience with power.
File browsers, a directory tree, custom menus and your standard
command shell are smoothly integrated into one highly customizable,
multi-window productivity tool of a kind long missed on Unix systems. Or,
to quote one of our SGI beta testers: `I've got UC 0.411 and launched
it. It's great. Just the program I was looking for all the years.'

If you like XTree Gold or the Norton Commander, or if you're fed up with
point-click-curse interfaces, or if you want to extend the power of the
command line, this program is for you. UC is easy to learn, and also has
full context sensitive help and an online tutorial built-in. Everything
is contained in a single 650k executable that runs efficiently even on
33 MHz machines.

To get started straight away, ftp to ftp.uu.net, change to directory
/vendor/UniX11/linux, and grab the executable uc-linux-981.gz. For more
information, please refer to the binaries and the additional files on
ftp.uu.net. For specific questions, email me at henrik@UniX11.com.

UC is copyrighted $25 shareware like XV. The distribution binaries run
unrestricted with complete functionality. Additional versions are available
for AIX, DEC Alpha/OSF1, FreeBSD, HP-UX, Irix, Solaris & SunOS.

Cheers,
   Henrik Klagges/henrik@UniX11.com
   UniX11 Software Development Corp

PS: European mirror site: ftp.uni-wuppertal.de, /pub/unix/cockpit/linux.
    Timedelay 1 day.
