Subject: AMA FREIDA (or Competitive Edge)
Anyone using these products in their labs?
We've a current problem (and a not-so-current one). Our
copy of FREIDA is 1992, thus containing the up-to-date addresses
and info necessary for med students in search of residency
programs, etc. Unfortunately, FREIDA only has one label format
available for printing - laser labels, 2 columns, 14 to a page.
The lab setting I'm in has dot-matrix printers at all of the
stations - only one laser printer. Thus, the hard-to-find labels
for a dot-matrix printer has effectively prevented students from
using FREIDA to it's full extent. Instead, we have Competitive
Edge from 1989 (the company appears to be out of business now)
that allows label printing in a variety of formats and people
have been using that.
I checked with AMA's software support for FREIDA - they
recommended that I (we?) write to the FREIDA coordinator and
push for multiple label formats. That's the long term fix,
but I was wondering if anyone has already written the converter
that will set the labels up for a single column printing.
Anyone?

Subject: networking CDPLUS Medline.
Does anybody know about cdplus being networked on Optinet or CD-net.
In fact, we are interested to know whether cdplus can be networked on
any other netware but their own.
We'll be very gratefull for any specific information from people who
already network cdplus.
Thanks a lot
