POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - LAMAR UNIVERSITY
Position Title: Bibliographic Instruction Coordinator/
Reference Librarian
Salary: $25,000 (12 months, tenure track, faculty status)
Responsibilities: Responsible for coordinating bibliographic instruction
in both traditional and automated resources, assisting
in general reference services, database searching,
collection development, preparation of bibliographies,
and service on library and University committees. The
librarian provides leadership for the Bibliographic
Instruction program, and establishes policies and
procedures in cooperation with the Coordinator of
Reference Services.
Qualifications: Required: A.L.A. accredited MLS degree; commitment to
public service; good written/oral communication skills;
ability to work effectively in an automated
environment, including online databases and CD-ROMS.
Preferred: One to two years experience in Bibliographic
Instruction in an academic library; proficiency in
DIALOG online database searching.
Deadline Date: Search will remain open until position is filled but
applications submitted by September 1, 1992 will be
given first consideration.
