----------------------------Original message----------------------------

The following message has been posted on both PACS-L and
CWIS-L. I apologize for annoying duplication.

The Chronicle of Higher Education is considering offering
an information service using a 900 number. However, we
understand that some colleges and universities block
access to 900 numbers. To give us an idea of what
problems we might encounter, would you please answer
  the following questions:

Does your institution block access to 900 numbers?
Does it do so for everyone's phone, or just for some
lines? If only certain phones are blocked, how is
  the decision made?

Are there any other restrictions on outgoing calls?

What is your college or university?

I would be happy to summarize responses if you send them
  directly to me.

  Thank you.
