A colleague is planning a pilot project to investigate library usage
by observation of readers' behaviour. I hasten to add that the
"observation" will be conducted openly and only with full agreement
and understanding of the readers and staff involved. As part of his
data, which will include video and audio recordings, he would like
to log their use of the Networked services (principally CD-ROM and
Telnet to the Internet) available to readers at this library. Can
anyone suggest suitable software that would do more than simply
log key strokes but enable complete "action replays" of the sessions
on the readers' workstations that could be matched with transciptions
of the audio and video recordings?
