In February 1992 we installed the new Infotrac stations w/ the EF software.
Since that time we have experienced infrequent problems with the 386 Infotrac
stations. The screen display in its dorment "screen save" mode will freeze and
lock up the system. A cold reboot is necessary to reactivate the station for
use. IAC has send replacement software, a replacement power strip, and I even
reformatted the hard drive on IACs recommendation & installed the new software
(it was really the same file on new disk I suspect). The question is... Are
other libraries experiencing these screen freezes and if so have they solved
the proble. I believe Information Access is out of suggestions. I suspect a
bug in the screen saver. I have never been able to cause the proble myself so
I could track it. Thanks
