In response to the statement that the law makes copyright without registration
worthless because registration is required for suit:
Registration is not required for all suits. Some foreign authors are
exempt under the Berne convention implementation act changes. For the
rest of us, we can still register just before we file suit. And copyright
does a lot of good even when you don't sue. I've managed to get quite
a few people to stop doing something or change something they were
doing with letters concerning the copyright law without having to resort
to suit.
