The official MARC standard for networked information is being coordinated by
Sally H. McCallum, Chief, Network Development & MARC Standards Office,
LM 639, Library of Congress, Washington, DC 20540; Internet: smcc@SEQ1.LOC.GOV.
Some discussion papers on this proposed standard were posted to the LISTSERV
CNIDIR-L@UNMVM.BITNET last year. MARBI Discussion Paper no. 54, "Providing
Access to Online Information Resources", in *my* opinion, the crucial one, is
available via email. Send the message "get dp54 doc" to
LISTSERV@MAINE.MAINE.EDU; this direction was posted by Barbara.Shipman@
med.UMich.edu to CNIDIR-L@UNMVM.BITNET.
There was also an earlier MARBI Discussion Paper, no. 49, "Dictionary of
Data Elements for Online Information Resources" which appeared in the spring
1991.
