Information Analyst I: Georgia Institute of Technology
The Georgia Tech Library and Information Center is
seeking candidates for an Information Analyst I position
with the Systems Development and Planning group. The
primary focus of this position will be the development of
a graphic interface for the Georgia Tech Electronic
Library (GTEL), and the establishment of real-time links
between GTEL and other sources of data. This position
offers a unique opportunity to participate in cutting-
edge library automation projects, and to help shape the
future of electronic information access and distribution.
TITLE: Information Analyst I
SALARY RANGE MIDPOINT: $ 33,758
DUTIES: Provide systems analysis and programming to help
develop workstation software for the Library. In
addition, the Information Analyst will assist others in
the Library's System Development Group with loading and
maintenance of academic databases for Georgia Tech's
Electronic Library. Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: 3-4 years of any combination of
education and experience to include two years production
programming experience using the C language, or
equivalent education experience which includes advanced C
programming. Programming experience with a graphic user
interface. Also prefer experience with data
communications, such as configuring TCP/IP networks.
DESIRABLE: UNIX systems administrator or systems
programmer experience. Data communications programming
or session scripting. Hypertext software, multimedia
applications, free-text database management. Knowledge
of library automation.
