As a related concern, there is a great need for hospital
libraries to be connected to the Net. Many of these
hospitals a re struggling to remain open, so they do
not all have generous information budgets. In North
Carolina, we are in the process of getting basic hard-
ware out into these libraries. With a little foresight
and imagination, one can envision the uses that could
be found for Net connection. Hospital libraries should
be included in plans to "Net-ize" the nation's libraries.
Where else is the need for currency of information so
acute?
