Thanks for the suggestion. How would this be?

FYI, America Online, one of the major online consumer
services, has made an email connection to the
Internet. AOL is notable in the annals of online
service because it has no deep-pocketed parents and
has been operating profitably enough to go public!

One of the interesting aspects of AOL's link to the
Net is the interface it brings to use of email.
Users will use the standard AOL email interface,
which is controlled by front-end ("client" in net
lingo) software (AOL users must use of this software,
which is available at no charge).

Mail arrives in a list, you can click on what you
want, read, cut and paste from the address blocks,
from the text, respond, send the mail right now, or
later...all using graphic icons that simplify the
whole process. You can cut an address and past it
into an address book that is part of the software,
then, when you want to send to PACS-L@uhupvm1.uh.edu
or some such, just click on the name you've given to
the address and it gets pasted into the TO block.

A "Flashmail" feature lets you send mail -- and
collect it -- at a set time and set frequency. You
can also work offline.

With the net world expanding and looking for calming
interfaces, AOL's arrival may prove interesting.

AOL also sports a wide array of educational services,
plus file libraries, computer SIGs and real-time
interactive games.

(Disclaimer: AOL has retained my services a bit to
help them fathom the currents of the net...so any
overtly promotional aspects to this message are,
well, I hope not too overt.)
