The Human Machine Interface Interest Group (HMIIG) is meeting Saturday, 2-4 pm
in the San Francisico Hilton Yosemite A Room. Two presenters will launch
discussion segments.

Walt Crawford, senior analyst at RLG and LITA vice president, will note a few
of the apparent trends in evolving online catalog design, but will also
discuss the tradeoffs involved in extending catalog access. He will be
speaking both from his experience inpreparing "The Online Ctalogo Book: Essays
and Examples" and in designing RLG's forthcoming patron-seraching system.

Harry Morris, Scientist at Thinking Machines, Inc., will discuss the
implications of WAIS (Wide Area Information Servers) for library information
delivery systems. Aspects of user interface design will be highlighted.

Note: nominations for a vice chair are being accepted for next year!
