Research Software Design asked me to post the following message:

                              *********
A reader of this bulletin board has just sent us a copy of a posting
reporting a rumor that PAPYRUS had been bought out or was being
phased out.

This rumor is completely false.

Research Software Design, the maker of the PAPYRUS Bibliography System, is
doing very well, with steadily increasing sales. No other company nor person
has ever offered to buy us out, nor would we consider such an offer.

A very major update to the IBM-PC version of PAPYRUS, Version 7.0, will be
released during July 1992. The Macintosh version of PAPYRUS is expected to ship
during 1993. A full Windows version will probably follow thereafter.

Because there have been absolutely no events that could conceivably be
misconstrued to suggest a buy-out of the company or a phase-out of PAPYRUS, I
am concerned that this rumor has been started with malicious intent, perhaps by
a competing software company. Should we ever determine the origin of this
rumor, we will consider taking legal action against its originator.

Thank you for not further spreading this totally false rumor.

(If you would like further information about PAPYRUS, please e-mail me
directly, as I do not routinely follow these bulletin board discussions.)
