Here we go again :-)
Emboldened (and partially empowered) by the replies I had to my previous
message about Postscript files, I would welcome help with my latest set
of problems.
Many of the files on ftp site machines have the extension .Z I believe this
refers to a compressed file? I have found a utility caled MacCompress which is
a MAC version of the Unix compress/decompress program. But when I ftp a .Z
file and use my newly acquired SENDPS utility to download the decompressed file
to my LaserWriter (operating under System 6.0.7) I get error messages and
nothing gets printed. The error messages refer to "illegal commands and to
flushing to the end of file."
Do I have to download the compressed version of postscript files using
binary instead of the usual text format? Or is there some other cause (besides
incompetence) for my problems?
Many thanks for your continued support
Iain Noble
