One of my favorite software review sources is the Software Digest Ratings
Report which does an in-depth, critical comparison of several related
software programs in each issue. 1991 had reports on hypercard programs,
statistical programs, SQL front ends and servers, communications programs,
on-the-fly compression programs and many other topics.
