The Library of Rush University, Chicago, welcomes applications
for the position of Reference Librarian/User Education
Coordinator.  Responsible for user education program including
course development, scheduling and evaluation.  Responsible
for maintenance of department and public-access microcomputers,
representing department to library-wide microcomputer committee,
and recommending hard/software.  Responsible for maintenance
of CD-ROM drive connected to AT&T Starlan.  Staffs reference
desk, provides computerized literature searches, and participates
in committees and other professional activities.

Candidates should have: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited
school of library science; 2-3 years min. reference experience,
preferably in an academic setting; extensive microcomputer
skills with LAN experience a plus; bibliographic instruction
experience; excellent interpersonal/communications skills;
appreciation for diversity in the workplace; creative problem-
solving skills.

The library is a LIS/MiniMEDLINE (Georgetown) site and provides
access to a range of CD-ROM databases through a LAN with others
accessible at stand-alone workstations.  Access to full MEDLINE
on site anticipated within the year.

Rush University is the academic component of Rush-Presbyterian-
St. Luke's Medical Center, a 1,265-bed tertiary care facility.
We offer a salary range of $27,000-29,000, depending on
experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including
four weeks vacation and tuition reimbursement.  Our location
is convenient to CTA/RTA public transportation.
