Lexis/Nexis is indeed available through the Internet. Several law schools have
been accessing it in this fashion for a few months now. However, one cannot
simply telnet to the IP address. You run into the echo problem as well as
printing and downloading problems. You really need to be using the Internet
version of the Lexis 2000 software (this includes several means of making the
network connection). Give Mead Customer Service a call at 800/543-6862 - have
your password handy.

In answer to David Palmer's question, Lexis/Nexis is available and
searchable on the Internet, at the address
lexis.meaddata.com
The main problem I've encountered in a few experiments is that
I can't get my own input to echo on the screen, i.e., can't see
what I type. Changing telnet parameters to local echo doesn't
seem to help. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
