THE AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION LIBRARY INSTRUCTION ROUND
TABLE (LIRT) COMPUTER APPLICATIONS COMMITTEE WANTS TO HEAR
FROM YOU.
This Committee is conducting a survey to identify libraries
which are developing or using computer assisted instruction
(C.A.I.) programs to provide instruction in the use of library
and information resources. The results will be compiled in a
directory to facilitate communication between librarians who
are interested in C.A.I. programs.
Since information on commercially produced C.A.I. packages is
already available, the survey focuses on responses from
libraries using programs developed in-house or obtained from
non-commercial sources. The directory entries for each
library will identify the title, instructional objectives,
target audience, hardware and software requirements,
availability and adaptability for other libraries, and contact
person for each C.A.I. package.
LIRT is dedicated to promoting bibliographic instruction in
all types of libraries so public, school, community and four
year college, university, corporate and special libraries are
all encouraged to respond.
