At the ACRL conference in Salt Lake City, Paul Safflo gave an interesting
presentation which convincingly showed that paper's new role would the
the interface medium between the electronic delivery systems and the
human recipients. If the studies conducted to date are accurate (I have
heard about them, but have not perused any of them), reading from screens
results in lowered comprehension and retention rates; therefore, the
paper copy seems even more indispensable.
