Our Library is considering organizing a Shareware/Freeware
Library. We are aware of the CD-Roms that are available
and of other producers that make this stuff available. My
questions are:
1. How do you keep people from copying the software from the
CD-Rom onto the hard drive? (We have considered going
with a computer that has floppy drives only.)
2. Is there any extra security precautions that must be taken
to insure that no one steals the CD-Rom? (Figuring that
a few mega-bytes of software might be more of a temptation
then, say, the ERIC CD-Rom, or some of the other "Index-type"
   CD-Roms.)
I would particularly like to hear from Librarians that have organzed
a Shareware/Freeware Library. What kind of problems have they had,
the level of usage and any suggestions they might have. Thanks.
