Bernie Sloan wonders if PACS-L discussions are ever mentioned in print
media sources (see below):

I see where one of our relatively recent discussions merited an item
in the print media.
In the April 1 issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education (p. A19),
there's a four paragraph item on the recent discussion of how/whether
participation in Bitnet lists, computer conferences, etc., impacts
decisions on promotion, tenure, and job searches. There are quotes
from two of the participants (Mary Brandt Jensen and William J. Hunter).
Could this be a first? I don't recall seeing one of our discussions
jump from electronic to print media before. . . .

It is becoming more common to see PACS-L messages being quoted
and cited in books and journals. Here are some representative sources

Ann Okerson and I have argued that computer conferences may be a new type
of serial publication [1,2]. Whether this is true or not, computer
conferences are having an impact on scholarly discourse in the library
print media.
