1/3 Million eBooks Planned for Showcase Event
Three months from today marks the opening of the World eBook Fair
for the month of July 4 through August 4.
The purpose of the World eBook Fair is to demonstrate eBooks to a
wider range of the public than ever before, by presenting new and
old eBooks from the widest possible range of eBook providers.
eBooks will be provided, free of charge and some under copyright,
to allow the public to see the wide variety of forms, formats and
a selection of downloads from a selection of 1/3 million titles.
We are hoping to include the following in this celebration:
1. The 20,000th eBook on the original Project Gutenberg site.
2. The 8,500th eBook from the Distributed Proofreaders.
3. Doubling the Project Gutenberg Consortia Center collection.
4. The 500th eBook from Project Gutenberg of Australia.
5. The 300th eBook from Project Gutenberg of Europe.
6. A month of free access to the World eBook Library.
7. Your participation!
This event coincides with the 35th anniversary of the first steps
taken to create a public library on the Internet and is sponsored
by Project Gutenberg and the World eBook Library, also sponsor of
The Project Gutenberg Consortia Center.
If you would like to sponsor some eBooks, or even sponsor domains
or any other eBook sampling, please let us know.
