Systems Librarian: Creighton University, Omaha, NE. (Deadline extended)
Primary responsibilities: Manage and integrate library technologies to
support the operations and strategic direction of the Creighton
University Libraries. Responsible for the management and maintenance of
the Library System and its related products, collaborating with the
library staff to establish procedures that meet defined and projected
needs, and serving as liaison between library staff, vendors, and the
Division of Information Technology. Perform database administration
duties, system maintenance and upgrades for the library system, digital
archive and related products; customize the display of the public access
catalog and other web integrated applications.
Required qualifications: Masters degree in library science from an
accredited ALA program or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Two years of library systems administration experience.
Ability to work within a team and independently. Must have logical,
analytical, and problem-solving skills. Must have good interpersonal
communication skills: written and oral.=20
Preferred qualifications: Experience with SIRSI Library System
Administration. Knowledge of Oracle databases, Unix Operating System,
and Microsoft Office Products via ODBC. Knowledge and experience with
Javascript, HTML, and XML. =20
