Collection Management Librarian - Cataloging Team Leader
(#401090-L)
Under general direction of the Coordinator for Collection
Management, provide leadership, direction and guidance to four
librarians and supervise three support staff for cataloging. Advise
all personnel involved with cataloging in the library. Establish goals
and priorities. Monitor all activities concerning the cataloging of
the library’s main collection such as original and copy cataloging of
library resources, staff training, statistics, maintaining the
integrity of the online catalog, and linking the catalog to Internet
and electronic resources. Monitor standards for bibliographic
records
in the online catalog created by other units on campus. Work
creatively and cooperatively to enhance and evaluate library
programs
and services, monitor new trends, and implement new initiatives &
technology.
Instruction/Reference (401530-L)
Develop, deliver, and evaluate library instruction and provide
reference service to campus community, assume leadership role in
development of instructional web pages and tutorials, build strategic
partnerships with teaching faculty, design and conduct database
training for library staff, and select resources in assigned reference
areas
Distance Education/Outreach (401410-L)
Coordinate delivery of reference and instructional library services to
distance education students, provide reference service and conduct
instruction sessions, implement campus outreach activities, and
select
resources in assigned reference areas
Web Services (401100-L)
Provide leadership for library web services and provide reference
and
instruction to the campus community, create electronic instructional
resources including web-based tutorials and online guides. Select
resources in assigned reference areas
