"Sustainability" has been extended to Friday March 12, 2004.
About this category:
WJ Awards for Sustainability will highlight innovative ways that
organizations are finding funding and other resources, such as hardware,
software, volunteers, and outreach. It also can include how organizations
are partnering with others in the community to build public and private
support for their public access programs that are leading to longer
sustainability. Criteria will include:
* Replicability
* Creativity and innovation
* Long-term impact
About the WJ Awards Program:
WebJunction's first annual Awards program highlights the extraordinary work
of libraries in the United States, Tribal and First Nations, and Canada that
are committed to providing public access to technology and information in
their communities.
Awards are selected quarterly in one of four categories. Up to five
selections are made by WebJunction's Advisory Committee in each category,
depending on the number of entries/nominations and the level of patrons
served.
Any library located in one of the 50 states, the six jurisdictional
territories of the United States, or Canada that provide more than 20 hours
per week of public access to the Internet are eligible for consideration.
Tribal and First Nation community organizations providing public access are
also eligible. All applicants and nominees must have e-mail and provide
public access to the Internet.
Program rules and entry requirements are developed and supported by the
entire WebJunction community. We welcome your feedback. If you have
questions about the awards program or your entry, send an email to
awards@webjunction.org <mailto:awards@webjunction.org> .
