We purchased our first round of barcode labels from through our software producer as we found it was cheaper and more time effective to have them outsourced. Those particular labels are made of some material that is resistent to fading and smuging. We produce ALL of the rest ourselves on laser printers. These we protect with the clear adhesive strips made just for that. It takes a bit longer, but saves tons of time in the long run as the unprotected ones smuge up or fade off quickly.

Hope this helps.
