Hello:
Because of your interest in information and library science, Bowling
Green State University invites you to a special event. We welcome
the opportunity to meet with you and discuss our online bachelor's
degree program.
The online Bachelor of Science in Technology program consists of nine
web-based, technology courses. These courses cover a broad range of
topics from computer communication to training & development to
administrative techniques. Four new courses will soon be available,
relating to information science. All of the program's courses are
primarily asynchronous, which means they are largely self-paced and
have few set meeting dates and times. You must also complete general
education requirements. Many of the credits from your associate's
degree will fulfill some of these requirements. Additionally, there
are two cooperative education requirements, which are basically
reports on past and present work experience.
As a typical online student at BGSU, you can complete this degree in
2-3 years depending on how many credits transfer in and how many
courses you take each semester. When you have met all the
requirements, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Technology from
Bowling Green State University with a major in Advanced Technological
Education.
We are having an informational luncheon on October 23, from 1:30 -
3:30, in room 315 of the Student Union building. By attending this
luncheon, you will have opportunities to meet and speak with faculty
in our program, as well as BGSU Executive Vice President Linda Dobb,
BGSU Library Dean Lorraine Haricombe, and additional faculty and
staff from distance learning and continuing education fields.
Additionally a representative from BGSU's Office of Student Financial
Aid will be present to answer questions about loans, scholarships and
other aid that may be available to participants in the program. This
luncheon is free, but seating is limited. Additionally, the
Northwest Ohio Technology Fair will also be happening in the same
building from 10:00 - 4:00, featuring presentations on current and
emerging technologies, demonstrations from Apple Computer, IBM, and
Dell, and a variety of door prizes. Come for the luncheon and for
the Tech Fair.
If you and/or colleagues would like to attend our informational
luncheon on October 23, please rsvp via email to:
ate@bgnet.bgsu.edu, or contact us by phone at: 1 800 328-0901. If
you have any questions about the online bachelor's degree, additional
information is available at: http://online.bgsu.edu
