                Reference and Instruction/Information Literacy
                     Librarian, Louisiana Tech University.
Qualifications/Requirements:  ALA-accredited MLS; Strong
background or additional degree in Education or Liberal Arts;
Knowledge of current issues and trends in library instruction
and information literacy; 2-5 years professional reference
experience in the academic environment preferred; Experience
using electronic library and information resources, software
technologies including online databases and internet
technologies; Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and
written/oral communication skills; Ability to work effectively
with faculty, staff and students
Responsibilities: Responsible for providing leadership and
coordinating information literacy initiatives for undergraduate
and graduate students. Assist in the design, implementation
and promotion of an instruction/information literacy
curriculum, both online and traditional; Prepare course-related
instructional materials and assist in staff training as needed;
Provide full range of reference services to university faculty
staff and students.  Duties include staffing the Reference Desk
during daytime, night and weekend rotation schedule, and
collection development
Position is tenure track with faculty rank.
Position to begin:  February, 2003.
Salary:  $32,000-$37,000 commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
