There was a thread that went through PACS-L a month or two ago about
running surveys over the net, with the usual general disagreement about
whether it was good etiquette or not. I think this article should be
required reading for anyone who would contemplate such an exercise.

[Questionaire deleted]

Kingsley, how about answering this one:

1.) Do you know how to cross post?
Yes, but I couldn't fit all those newsgroups on one line [ ]
No, but I can't be bothered to read the manuals. [ ]
Yes, but I'd prefer everybody to see my postings multiple times [ ]

2.) Do you think about what is appropriate for a group before posting there?
Yes, but then the urge passes [ ]
No, why should I be polite [ ]
Everybody should see my postings, so why be selective [ ]

3.) Do you expect people to answer personal questions when you don't tell
them why you are asking?
Yes, privacy is a foriegn concept to me. [ ]
No, but I thought I'd try anyway. [ ]
Your business is my business, my business is none of yours [ ]

4.) Do you enjoy seeing mocking followups to your psuedo-research efforts?
Yes, why else would I have done this [ ]
No, I thought the net had a high tolerance for stupidity [ ]

5.) Do you think others will think these questions have a political agenda?
No, I didn't think people on the net were that perceptive [ ]
Yes, but who cares [ ]

6.) Since this questionaire is obviously not of interest to the whole world,
do you think you should have restricted the distribution?
Yes, but I couldn't be bothered to find out how to do it [ ]
No, I think people in Denmark can have a real input into US politics [ ]

7.) How much money do you make in a year?
10K-20K [ ]
20K-30K [ ]
30K-40K [ ]
40K-50K [ ]
50K-60K [ ]
60K-70K [ ]
70K+ [ ]

8.) Please tell me your age, sex, marital status, and last three sexual
partners:
_______________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________

9.) Do you know realize what you did wrong?
Yes, but I'm not going to stop [ ]
No, I'm totally dense [ ]
Yes, I'm sorry [ ]

I hope this gets the point across.
