The ALA has made a commitment to make libraries, online and onsite, more
accessible to consumers with disabilities. With the tight budgets, few
libraries have staff trained to live up to this laudable commitment. EASI
(Equal Access to Software and Information) provides a series of online
courses and also a Certificate in Accessible Information Technology. Many
of us have been "print impaired" all of our lives, and we are excited that
we too can be library users. We have been working for a decade to help
librarians live up to this exciting challenge.
