Please respond to me. I will summarize for the list.
I am preparing to teach a doctoral level course on Network Policy and Design.
The course is being offered at the School of Communication, Information and
Library Studies at Rutgers University. Part of the course will consist
extensive independent use and exploration of the Internet.
Some of the students will have had extensive experience navigating the net
already, others will be virtual first-timers, so I hope to prepare a
packet of information (to be distributed via e-mail) that will satisfy
a variety of needs. I would like to include lists of listservs,
e-journals, newsgroups, etc. which deal with network policy and design
issues. I would also like to prepare a list of "network experts/role
models" whom the students might "interview" (again, via e-mail) in partial
satisfaction of the course requirements.
I would appreciate any suggestions regarding these lists of resources.
If you are willing to serve as a "network expert" please let me know.
The course will be a seminar--I promise you won't be deluged with hundreds
of reguests! If you have suggestions for "network expert/role models"
please send me their e-mail addresses. I will contact them directly for
permission before adding them to the list.
Finally, if anyone else out there is planning on teaching a similar course
this Spring (or anytime in the future), and might be willing to cooperate
in a cross-institutional dialog, please let me know. If there are enough
responses, I may consider setting up an appropriate venue for discussion.
