A little bit of searching in Library Literature or ERIC or other tool
of your choice will lead you to many different comparative articles in
the professional literature. LJ even runs an annual article comparing
latest developments, sales, etc. But there are a whole host of
articles out there. Also, each company's website will tell you of
some customers, and the key advantages (at least those that are such,
in their opinion).
I'd suggest that you also turn this into a Reference Class assignment
and do the research yourself. Anything any of us will say will be
heavily biased by our own experiences and personal favorites. To a
considerable extent it is a "Ford vs. Chevy vs. Toyota" type of
comparison. Much is dependent on personal choices or needs, on
prices, and on whether you want a compact car, a big car, an SUV, or a
pickup truck from the manufacturer.
Quite simply there isn't one right answer.
One final thought. You say you're studing "cataloging systems". What
do you mean? How good it is for the users? How great it is for the
cataloger doing the cataloging? How well it works for importing
records from OCLC or elsewhere? etc. etc. etc.
Get thee to the library.....hit the tools at your fingertips.
