Colorado libraries are working on developing a network
called the Access Colorado Library and Information
Network. This network will establish toll-free dial
access and front-end menus to the online catalogs of
the library systems of the state that are linked to
Colorado SuperNet, Colorado's local InterNet service.
Colorado residents will then be able to use
microcomputers and modems to access the online catalogs
of the participating libraries.
In preparing for the implementation of this service,
the Access Colorado Training & Support Committee is
gathering information on how other library systems and
networks are providing support services for remote
users of public access catalogs. I would appreciate
any assistance that you could give us.
If you have any printed materials used for promotion,
training, or support of your system's remote users that
you could share, I would like to obtain copies. This
could include any of the following:
- remote access guide
- trouble-shooting guide
- workbooks or training manuals
- reference manuals
- workshop materials.
If there are any costs associated with obtaining these
materials, please contact me so that I can arrange for
payment.
Also, I would be glad to chat within anyone working on
similar services.
Thanks,
Susan Fayad
