Librarians familiar with the many commercial offerings in CD-ROM format will be disappointed by the general unavailability of subject-specific Compact Disc-Interactive for college libraries. What discs that have been turned out are, to the best of my knowledge, "home-grown"; that is, they were developed by an academic department at a particular university in support of teaching and are not marketed outside the parent institution.
