Title:  Head of Reference: Tenure Track Assistant Professor or Associate
Professor.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Librarian, the Head of
Reference provides leadership in planning, evaluating, and implementing
reference services in a rapidly changing technological environment
dedicated to promoting information literacy. Works collaboratively to
create and implement new policies and services corresponding to the
needs of faculty and students. Primary day-to-day responsibilities
include the management, scheduling, and supervision of the general
reference desk personnel,
including library professionals, clerical staff, tutors, and student
assistants. Participates in providing reference services. Supervises
government documents collection. Takes a leadership role in building the
print and electronic reference collection. Participates in bibliographic
instruction as well as information literacy planning and implementation.
Provides hands-on instruction in the use of electronic resources
(including an online catalog, web-based databases, and the Internet).
Fulfills collection development responsibilities in one or more subject
areas. Provides leadership in staff development and training.
Represents the Library on appropriate College and University Committees.

Qualifications: For appointment at the Assistant Professor level, the
successful candidate will have an ALA accredited MLS plus a second
masters degree or Ph.D. For appointment at the Associate Professor
level, a proven track record of scholarly publication and research is
also required. Proven leadership abilities, supervisory experience,
college level reference, teaching and/or library instruction experience
are essential, as is knowledge of electronic information resources.
Experience with government documents is a plus. Subject knowledge of
Spanish language and literature is a plus. Must have the ability to
communicate well and to work in a collegial atmosphere where user
service is the primary objective. Appointees at the Assistant Professor
or Associate Professor levels must demonstrate and maintain a record of
excellence in librarianship, scholarly achievement and service for
reappointment, tenure and promotion.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
For Assistant Professor: $32,703 - $57,049
For Associate Professor: $42,616 - $68,174
Excellent Fringe Benefits. This is a 12-month contract.

Title: Evening and Weekend Public Services Librarian: Instructor or
tenure track Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Librarian, the Evening and
Weekend Public Services Librarian supervises the Library during evening
and weekend hours. Works at the Reference Desk. Responsible for evening
and weekend staffing and scheduling. Primary day-to-day responsibilities
include the supervision of staff in the Circulation, Reserves, Stack
Maintenance, and Interlibrary Loan areas. Provides weekend bibliographic
instruction and hands-on instruction in the use of electronic sources
(online catalog,
web-based databases, and the Internet). Plays a leadership role in
planning, evaluating, and implementing public services in a rapidly
changing technological environment. Fulfills collection development
responsibilities in one or more subject areas. Represents the Library on
appropriate College and University Committees.

Qualifications: For appointment at the Assistant Professor level, the
successful candidate will have an ALA accredited MLS plus a second
masters degree or Ph.D. College-level reference and/or supervisory
experience preferred. Experienced MLS librarians who are currently
engaged in or planning studies leading to a second masters or doctoral
degree will be considered for initial appointment at the rank of
Instructor. Familiarity with electronic information resources and
technology is essential. Must have
the ability to communicate well and work in a collegial atmosphere where
user service is the primary objective. Must be available to work evening
and Saturdays. Subject knowledge of Spanish language and literature a
plus. Appointees hired at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate
a record of excellence in librarianship, scholarly achievement and
service for reappointment, tenure and promotion.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
For Instructor: $29,997-$48,284
For Assistant Professor: $32,703-$57,049
