A quick status report on the online catalog project that PACS-L folk
have been so helpful with:

1. My keynote from last summer's LITA Screen Design Preconference
appears in the March 1992 Information Technology and Libraries,
   v. 11, no. 1, pp. 62-76.

2. The Online Catalog Book, with my own essays and 32 contributions
on specific catalogs, is on schedule to appear from G.K. Hall
in time for ALA 1992 Annual in San Francisco, at the end of June.

3. The Catalog Collection (the contributions with *all* contributed
screens) is *now available*, exclusively through the Library and
Information Technology Association (LITA). Contact me for specific
   information.

4. The Catalog Collection as an ongoing project will be open for
additional contributions, but not before this July. Contact me
   if you're interested.

5. I'll be "launching" a discussion of specific online catalog
design issues at the LITA Human Machine Interface Interest Group
discussion session, Saturday, June 27, during ALA 1992 in San
Francisco. Brewster Kahle will be the star of that particular
session, to be sure. Check the conference schedule for location:
it's an Interest Group meeting, not a formal program.

Thanks again to all those who contributed to the project, and to
those who will in the future...and to those who occasionally do
discuss online catalog/public access issues on PACS-L.
