Instructional Technologist
Hampden-Sydney College, a private liberal arts institution with a
commitment
to excellence in undergraduate education, invites applicants for the
position of Instructional Technologist. The successful candidate will
join
a team of information specialists in the library and the media center
and
will report to the Director of the Library. This position plays a key
role
in the College’s efforts to foster, facilitate and support the use of
new
technologies in teaching and learning. Works with faculty on all
aspects of
teaching and technology; supervises a team of student technology
assistants;
develops and conducts workshops for the academic community and champions
innovation and the effective integration of technology and teaching.
Plays
a key role in building successful and lasting partnerships with faculty.
Insures the integrity and coherence of academic computing initiatives at
the
College.
Minimum requirement: a Master’s in a related field. Significant
supervisory and educational experience in the integration of teaching
and
technology. Requires thorough knowledge of the use of web development
and
multimedia in teaching, a demonstrated teaching background and excellent
communication skills.
