Join the ACRL Medium-Sized Academic Libraries Discussion Group for a
lively discussion of ASSESSMENT ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 14, 2001 FROM 9:30 TO
11 AM AT THE J. W. MARRIOTT HOTEL SALON III.
Assessment is receiving increasing emphasis from libraries themselves,
their home institutions and their regional accrediting agencies. There
are an expanding number of assessment tools, which can be employed,
including quantitative methods (system-wide statistics, questionnaires
and user surveys), qualitative ones (focus groups, interviews and
unobtrusive observations) and a relatively new one, benchmarking or
identification of best practices.
If you have experience with assessment tools, come share your
knowledge. You are also urged to attend if you are interested in
learning more about the topic!
